3 December 1915

The attendance this week has suffered very materially owing to the bad attendance consequent upon the closure of the school without notice. Many children having come to school on the Monday & Tuesday only to be sent home conceived the idea that the school was to be closed for a week, and stayed away accordingly. More than 40 children were absent on the first day of re opening. The average attendance is only 216, the percentage being 82.5%.
