This afternoon we are holding a "Parents Day". Counc. Souter is kindly presenting two prizes to the children who invested most money in the Whitley and Monkseaton building scheme.

We had over 200 parents and friends present yesterday.

The managers have kindly granted us a half holiday to have a Xmas party. It is from 3 to 6.30 p.m.

We close for the Xmas holiday to-day.

To-day I have three teachers and 94 children absent. The reason is that there is an epidemic of influenza.
