…home with a very swollen elbow. His father took him to hospital but they were not going to X-ray until 2 p.m. Accident reported to Office.
School closed for 5 weeks.
Miss Tait left for new post at Elland, Yorks.

4 September 1950

School re-opened.
Mrs Mary Lamb began as supply in Miss Tait's place. 52 children were transferred to the South Junior School.

6 September 1950

Miss Bates is absent — a poisoned leg through an insect bite.

11 September 1950

Mrs Rose began as supply in Miss Bates' place.

16 September 1950

Miss Jacques saw dancing in classes III, II, I and P.T. in Cl. 4. Miss Brindley, H.M.I. came to say goodbye to me.

18 September 1950

Miss Bates returned to duties.

28 September 1950

Prelim. visit of 2 students from Alnwick
