School was fumigated last night, after the notification of a second case of scarlet fever, by men from the W.B.U.D.C. Health Dept. Sprays were used, and have made a great deal of mess on cupboard doors, walls, blackboards and hall windows. This reported to and inspected by Mr. G. Holden, who also looked at all the outside toilets.

Accident to Brian Slater, 6 yrs. on road outside school, just before 1.30 p.m. Child taken by ambulance to Tynemouth Hospital, where admitted suffering from fractured leg. Office notified.

A protective railing is being erected outside the school gate.

School will be closed tomorrow as all teachers are attending N.U.T. Refresher Course.
