Nine children were promoted to-day for consistently good work — three from St II to St III and six from St IV to St V

An interesting excursion was made on Saturday afternoon last, by about 60 of the children from Stds II and III, to Holywell Dene, under the supervision of Miss Hope and Miss Warrener. Specimens of leaves &c were collected and an instructive chat preceded games.

The first quarter of this reorganised department concluded to day. Average attendance for the quarter = 166, which is much below present average owing to small number of admissions during the first week.
