North of England M.T. - Choir of 48 voices entered in Primary Junior section G & under 11 yrs of age (Songs). Out of 13 competiting Schools this School was 4th with 166 marks. A very good performance since the winning School had 169 marks.

North of England M.T. - Two Choir Speech teams entered - one in Primary Junior Section (placed first and won Avison Banner): the other was entered in the 11-14 yrs group. All Schools in this group were modern Secondary Schools, Whitley South being the only Junior School. This team gave a good performance but was unplaced. Miss A.Y. Leggetter trained the winning team.
