…Castle, Priory & Lime Kilns. During the evening heavy rain completely restricted the party's activities but the main purpose of the visit had been achieved. The School is deeply grateful to Mr George Rowe, Headmaster of Holy Island School, and former member of this School Staff, for his valuable assistance in preparatory arrangements & advice for this visit. The children & Staff meet the entire expense of the outing.

3 July 1950

The principal work in all classes this week will be end of the Year Examinations. The School Time Table will therefore be suitably adjusted in order that the various examinations can be held.

7 July 1950

Frame of School Piano is taken from School for repairs by Mr J.G. Heppell, 17 Ewbank Avenue, Fenham, Newcastle on Tyne 4. School Attendance for week is 94.37%.

12 July 1950

Miss Hewitson (County Inspector) calls p.m. to observe work of Miss B. Smithies (Probationer Teacher). During this week Staff has permission to prepare childrens Record Cards at suitable & convenient
