Owing to a chickenpox epidemic the attendances for three weeks have fallen below 60%.
March 17th - 59.2%
March 24th - 58.2%
March 31st - 56.9%
In accordance with Paragraph 15 (11) these attendances have been cancelled.

17 April 1939 · A. J. Ayre

School closed at mid-day on April 6th for Easter & reopened today.
Mrs. Casey is absent, ill. Mrs. Benson is taking her place, as supply teacher.

Examined Registers Class 2 & Standard 1 and found correct.

31 May 1939 · A. J. Ayre

School was closed on May 29th & 30th for Whitsuntide.
Mrs. Casey returned to school this morning.

1 June 1939 · A. J. Ayre

Mr. Wingate-Saul, H.M.I., visited school this afternoon & saw work in all classes.
Miss Blackburn took seven children to Gosforth during the afternoon for a rehearsal of the Physical Training display.
