Mr E. Sidebottom concluded his engagement on the staff of this school on taking up his appointment as Headmaster of Elsdon school

3 November 1919

Miss Robson still absent. Mrs Derricks absent in consequence of her son's illness. Three class teachers are thus missing and the work of the school is being carried on with great difficulty.

5 November 1919

In consequence of the non. delivery of coke as a result of lack of transport, no heating is possible to-day. Temperature of rooms at 10 a.m. = 48.

10 November 1919

Mrs Derricks returned after an absence of one week. Mrs Grainger (C) took up a temporary appointment as supply in place of Mr Sidebottom (resigned).
